We very quickly decided that we would love to take the opportunity to bring all of our family and friends to Manchester and have a city themed wedding. The hunt then began for our venue. Having spent many wonderful nights in Stock Restaurant, it was the obvious choice for us. From then we quickly began to plan our perfect day around the city.

I had no immediate colour scheme in mind but soon after designing our wedding invitations it all began to come together into a black and ivory theme.

On the morning of the wedding I got ready in our flat in Manchester with my beautiful bridesmaids. The all looked absolutely stunning in their black and ivory cocktail dresses from Glamorous Gowns. Flossy & Leigh arrived very early and worked their magic on our hair and make-up, making us all feel like princesses. Before long we felt like true royalty when Chris Mee Photography and Lenik Media arrived to photograph and video the day.

The church service made our day truly special. I arrived 45 minutes late to find a relaxed groom and a thoroughly entertained congregation. Bets had been taken on me turning up, there was talk of popping out for refreshments and Dave had threatened to marry the bride from the next service if she turned up first.

A London bus whisked us away to Great John St Hotel where we had canapé’s and champagne before heading to Stock Restaurant. It was overwhelming to see so many of our friends and family in one place, all there to celebrate our marriage and our happiness.

We’d decided to have a few speakers, I’d asked my close friend Fi to say few words on my behalf and she did a fantastic job. She had the room in stitches and really set the tone and the bar. My Dad, Dave and his best man Wally didn’t let us down, every one of their speeches had the room in tears, fits of laughter and everything in between. Groove Nation got the evening going with some fantastic pop-rock, which got the whole venue on their feet.
