Choosing a Vintage VW Camper for your wedding day!

Nothing pleases us more than to rock up to a wedding, with our campers decked in bows, enjoying waves from admiring passers by!

This year, Buttercup Bus VW Campers have been called to the rescue on a number of occasions to make sure that wedding parties get to the church on time. We thought that it would be helpful to give a few tips when choosing a VW Camper Hire company to provide you with your wedding car service, so as to ensure you will turn up in style without any hiccups!

First of all, as boring as it sounds, it is worth checking the terms and conditions of any hire, and whilst getting all the paperwork together, make sure that you are issued with booking confirmations and receipts for any payments.

It is always good to ask a company whether they have contingency procedures in place. For example, do they have other campervans in stock, or strategic relationships with other suppliers, so that should the worst happen, there is always another equivalent vehicle available.

Check the proximity of your hire company from your wedding destination – going local is always better, as your driver will know the area. It is also likely to be cheaper!

For those of you getting married in the winter, consider any adverse weather conditions, and the effects this might have on your hire, and discuss this with the company.

Make sure that your hire company has the appropriate insurance for their vehicle to be used for weddings. It is possible that a private owner may not be covered. Also, for those larger wedding parties, confirm the insured seating capacity of the vehicle. Where children are travelling, will the child seats fit?

Where possible, we would always recommend that you go round to see the vehicle in advance. Where this is not possible, ask to see lots of pictures, and ask how long ago the pictures were taken! It is also worth checking who the driver will be, whether a back up is available, and their level of experience.

To get the most out of your company, check whether they include any extras in their service, and what is included in the hire price. For example, is there a bottle of champagne included, and is it chilled? Do you really want a full bottle of champagne for a short trip, or do they offer half bottles? Can you bring your own music? Do they provide umbrellas, if those rain clouds are unable to hold back? How is the campervan decorated? Can any element be bespoke to your own requirements - eg flowers and ribbons? Will they wait until after the ceremony for your pictures?

We understand that wedding parties have a lot to think about when planning a wedding, and believe that it is important to reassure people that they are dealing with a professional (but fun!) company, that want nothing more than to add that something special to their day!

If you would like to find out more about Buttercup Bus VW Camper Weddings, then we would love to have a chat. You can even pop round to our base in Croydon for a cup of tea and trial drive with our driver! We are pretty proud of our campers, and love nothing more than to introduce them to everyone.
