Camp Katur Glamping Weddings

Camp Katur Glamping village launched in April 2013 and doesn’t do conveyor belt, formulaic ceremonies. This alternative venue offers bespoke, contemporary and personal weddings.

Camp Katur has more than 10 acres of meadowland surrounded by woodland available for a festival style wedding, an outer barn for the more rustic affair and woodland ceremony area for a more tranquil back to nature setting, all weddings here really are bespoke and unique.

There are a variety of quirky accommodation options within the glamping village, including Safari tents, yurts and an authentic tipi. The glamping village can accommodate up to 61 guests with extra options close by.

Camp Katur is a magical venue set within a 250 acre English Country Manor Estate of Camp Hill. There are a host of onsite activities, walks and adventures and an abundance of wildlife to enjoy. Located in North Yorkshire, close to historic Ripon and with the beautiful Yorkshire Dales on the doorstep Camp Katur really is the perfect wedding setting.

Wedding ceremonies available include:

The Woodland Ceremony which takes place within a natural woodland open area set amongst beautiful tall pine trees and can accommodate up to 100 guests seated or 200 standing and seating options include a tree trunk trestle, tree stump seating and hay bale seating.

Inner Orangery Barn. The converted inner Orangery barn has large open beams and one side of the barn is lined with stunning Georgian glassed doors opening onto a grassed patio area. The inner Orangery barn can accommodate 130 guests seated or 150 guests standing. The inner orangery barn can be transformed into a perfect space for the reception and with a bar attached and a small quirky rustic offspring room known as ‘The Rabbit Hole’, this can all be transformed into a creative space to surprise the wedding guests.

Rustic Outer Barn. The rustic outer barn is a blank canvas offering itself to inspiration and creativity. The open bricked, open beamed, open aired barn has personality and charm in abundance and can be transformed into a unique personal setting. Available to be hired out as a DIY blank canvas or dressed with Hessian curtains, fairy lights and candles the barn can really reflect the wedding party’s personality and style. The rustic outer barn can accommodate up to 100 guests seated or 130 guests standing.

Pop Up Venues. Camp Katur works closely with a number of pop up venue suppliers and can provide ceremony and reception venues to include large 21ft and 33ft yurts, Kata style tipi tents, Bedouin tents and Swedish and traditional style marquees. The capacity varies depending on the number and type of pop up venue selected

Receptions can take place within the glamping village, the inner orangery barn and the outdoor rustic barn. Camp Katur can tailor the evening entertainment and can accommodate even some of the wackier ideas. Popular options have included a cabaret show, circus acts, live music and cocktail sessions. For food and drink at the reception, Camp Katur works with many local catering suppliers. Anything is possible but some of the most popular are hog roasts, barbecus, clay pizza oven van, buffets and picnic baskets as well as the more traditional a la carte menus.

Additional Extras include the use of the outdoor Norwegian Eco Spa, set within tranquil woodland with a spacious wood burning hot tub and unique wood burning sauna barrel. This is the perfect place to unwind whilst listening to the sounds of local wildlife during sundown, either the evening before the wedding or the next day if the celebrations are extended.

The Nordic ‘Grillikota’ BBQ Pod cabin is the perfect indoor barbequing option and is available for the wedding party to extend the celebrations whether before or after the big day to cook up a hearty breakfast or an evening meal with a difference. Comfortably seating 16 adults inside there are tree hammocks and outdoor seating to extend the space further.

Camp Katur can offer unique transport options to arrive in style to the ceremony. Options include; a tractor and trailer, an army bus, quad bikes, horseback and by hot air balloon.

Camp Katur doesn’t currently hold a legal license for paper signing onsite but does work closely with fully trained humanist ceremony companies to give the wedding day and blessing the upmost personal touch.

Guests often go to the register office prior to their celebrations and sign the legal documents and have their actual wedding day celebrations at Camp Katur.
