Sage greens, dusky pinks and burnt oranges are among the key hues being considered by trend-led brides for 2022 and beyond. Little Mistress has reported a 140% surge in Google searches for 'sage green bridesmaid dresses' since January, surpassed by an 180% rise in searches for 'dusty blue' gowns and a 160% increase in 'mauve' searches.
Lisa Forde, founder of online stationery provider Tree of Hearts, says: “We’re seeing many couples choosing earthy, natural colour palettes and moving away from the whites and pastels of old."
When it comes to bridesmaids' dresses, muted earthy tones provide a complementing canvas for the bride, whatever colour she chooses to wear – whether that be crisp bridal white, show-stopping champagne or a nude-lined dress.
"Earthy tones add a really authentic and easy-going vibe to your big day and this is what couples are loving," says Evie Maskrey, owner of ethical bridalwear company Naya Bridal in Norfolk.
Consider a uniform colour palette among your bridesmaids or an array of colours that contrast yet complement when placed side by side.
