Revisiting the winner of the Videographer of the Year category at the 2017 Bride: The Wedding Awards, Karen Walpole of Walpole & Howson Wedding Films, shares her story
Producing wedding films for 12 years, Walpole & Howson were worthy winners of the 2017 Videographer of the Year title. Here is how Bride: The Wedding Awards has helped the business flourish.
Why did you enter the 2017 EDP Bride: The Wedding Awards or were you nominated?
We entered the awards ourselves and were staggered at the amount of past clients and wedding industry friends who also nominated us. We are very passionate about what we do and we wanted to see if we could be recognised in the industry as one of the best.
What was your reaction to winning the award?
Shocked. We were up against two other great videography companies and it did bring a tear to our eye after all the months of being so hopeful.
How has this recognition helped your business develop and grow?
We popped all the marketing materials onto our website and our social media outlets and it was nice that clients were booking us after hearing that we had won. Being told that they were excited to be booking the winner of the Best Wedding Videographer category in the EDP catchment area makes me feel very proud.
What advice would you give to a business entering the 2018 awards?
Just do it. The coverage of the awards is phenomenal.
Why should a couple nominate one of their wedding suppliers in the 2018 awards?
Everyone has their dream day and the suppliers work so hard to make every wedding so special. I think it's a nice thank you for everyone.
