Nicky Sulter of Little Millie's discusses how winning the 2017 Bride: The Wedding Awards Wedding Cake Maker of the Year category has given her business the recognition it deserves
Producing bespoke wedding cakes for couples in Norfolk, Little Millie's was crowned the Wedding Cake Maker of the Year at the 2017 Bride: The Wedding Awards, in association with the EDP and sponsored by Marry in Norfolk. Here, cake designer, Nicki Sulter, shares her story.
Why did you enter the awards?
We were lucky enough to be nominated for the 2017 wedding awards by some of our happy couples.
What was your reaction to winning?
Amazed and so happy, it's such a fantastic award and to be recognised by the people that matter in the industry means so much to us. We couldn’t be happier.
How has the recognition helped your business grow?
It is great that Archant Bride is supported by so many couples. We are now taking bookings so far in advance but still have to limit the amount of work we take on as every cake is designed and created personally by myself.
What advice would you give to a business entering the awards?
It's a fantastic award to win. My best advice would be to keep working hard, stick to your own styles and keep things personal for your wedding couples as every wedding is different.
Why should a couple nominate their wedding suppliers?
If a couple believe that they had had an exceptional service then it's fantastic for the business to be recognised. As a person, the award makes me feel really proud that my cakes are loved so much that I won. Feel free to nominate us again this year everyone.
