Bride: The Wedding Show at Ascot Racecourse 2017 is an outstanding success

14 Mar 2017

More than 2,000 brides, grooms and their friends and family turned out in force for the fourth year of Bride: The Wedding Show at Ascot Racecourse

Delivering inspiration and ideas of the finest degree, Bride: The Wedding Show at Ascot Racecourse proved a success for local couples planning their perfect day.

Dresses, cakes, flowers, menswear, venues, photographers, transport and entertainment were in abundance, as more than 90 exhibitors descended on Ascot to showcase their services.

Samantha Laming, owner of SJL Beauty, said: “The Ascot wedding show was an absolute success, full of really enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable suppliers who all had really imaginative displays. There was such a wide variety of wedding related suppliers creating the perfect arena for all the lovely brides-to-be and their friends and families. The entire show had a fantastic buzz all weekend.”

There were competitions to win amazing prizes, show-exclusive deals, free copies of the latest edition of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire Bride magazine, and goody bags for the first 100 brides-to-be through the door on both days of the event.

A transport area outside Ascot Pavilion presented a variety of vehicles, including campervans, classic cars and a double-decker bus, as well as a selection of mobile catering options. Couples were even invited to take a look inside the beautifully decorated tipi from White Bison Tipi Hire, which featured a burning fire pit and ambient lighting.

Inside the venue, a jam-packed entertainment programme kept visitors amused from start to finish. The café stage hosted sensational performances from the musical talents of Chanelle Aristide, The Vernon Sisters and G-Elvis, while the catwalk show – which ran at three times daily – amused the entire wedding party with the latest fashions from John Lewis, Confetti Bridal Centre, Slaters, Moss Bros, Ascot Bridal Studio and Truly Bridal of Surrey.

The champagne bar also offered show-goers the opportunity to enjoy the occasion and toast the future of each and every happy couple, serving flutes of fizz over the course of the weekend.

Bride-to-be Lucy Atter, from Camberley, visited the show with her mum, Debbie. They said: “It has been really lovely and lots of fun. It has given me lots of ideas. We saw the catwalk which was great; we got a couple of dress ideas and we spoke to the suppliers. I also signed up for the John Lewis Gift List Service.”
