The finalists of the EDP Bride: The Wedding Awards 2017 have been announced and ahead of the red carpet ceremony at Dunston Hall on Friday, 27th January, we get to know them a little better

Kelly Mullender, owner of Perfection by Kelly Mullender - a finalist in the Hair & Beauty Stylist of the Year category, answers our Q&A.

What geographic area do you cover? We travel to all areas, but mainly Norfolk and Suffolk.

How long has your business been running? I have been in the industry for eight years, but my salon has been open more than two years.

What does your business do? How does it stand out from the competition? We cover all areas of beauty such as nails, waxing, tinting and so on. We are renowned for our attention to detail and creating an individually tailored look, reflecting our clients' personalities and enhancing their best features. Our make-up style is very unique to us, so I think this is what makes us different and stand out; it is more dramatic make-up in respect to the coverage, colours and contouring but yet doesn't look heavy on a photograph. Our customer service is also another reason why I think we stand out; a lot of our feedback and reviews mention how comfortable and warmly welcomed the client felt when meeting us/on the wedding day and I think this is a fantastic quality to be remembered by.

Why did you enter the 2017 EDP Bride: The Wedding Awards? I entered the awards because I'm very proud of how far my team and I have come. I wanted to showcase our work and hopefully be recognised for the years of training we've had to get to where we are today.

What was your reaction to your business being announced as a finalist of the awards? So excited. The first thing i did was scream down the phone to my mum. Extremely grateful; I feel like we are winners just getting into the top three.

What are you most looking forward to at the EDP Bride: The Wedding Awards ceremony on 27thJanuary, 2017, at Dunston Hall? I am looking forward to meeting all the other finalists in the industry and networking. It will be a fantastic evening, I'm sure.
