Blue-suited men prepare to propose on New Year's Eve

Is your partner set to propose this New Year's Eve? If he is wearing a blue suit, there is a 62% chance he will pop the question
A recent survey of 1,000 men by Dobell.co.uk discovered that 62% of men planning to propose will do so on New Year's Eve while wearing a blue suit.
A staggering 37% of men chose the last day of the year to ask the all-important question, with other popular choices revealed as Valentine's Day (6%), Christmas day (3%) and their partner's birthday (8%).
The research also found that 42% of men weren’t planning to get down on one knee.
Traditions also appeared to be defied when respondents were asked about their adherence of the three-month salary ring value rule. While 12% said they would only spend what they could afford, 21% offered to buy whichever ring their partner had her heart set on.
Dobell.co.uk expects the 21st December to be the busiest day for sales of proposal-related menswear, with enough 59" men’s ties being sold across the UK on that day. This is enough to stretch from Edinburgh Castle to Big Ben (349,636 ties to be exact).
Mike Dobell, director and founder of Dobell, said: “We were surprised, but not shocked at the results of the survey as we know from experience that Christmas and New Year are a big time for our formalwear range, mainly because our customers can expect to be attending a lot of parties this time of year. Nevertheless, we are delighted to learn that this time of year is also a romantic one."
