The autumn/winter edition of A Suffolk Ceremony is now out, and within its pages can be found a glamorous bridal fashion photoshoot. Shot on location at Copdock Hall near Ipswich, the photoshoot utilised the talents of photographer Alison Harris, make-up artist Victoria Bradfield, hair stylist Carmel Falzon of Cheveux Boutique, florist Kaye Souter, and models Hannah and Hattie Bevan. The bridal gowns, which included a fit-and-flare dress from Pronovias and a gold sequinned number from Sorella Vita, were provided by Lily Christina Bridal.

Copdock Hall, owned by Ian and Diane Evans, is a restored Tudor barn that features a stunning timber-framed interior as well as a large courtyard and its very own vineyard. Surrounded by countryside, it was the perfect location for this bridal fashion shoot.

“I thoroughly enjoyed working in this beautiful venue so obviously lovingly restored by Ian and Diane,” says florist Kaye Souter. “I have known the barn all my life as I was born nearby. I took inspiration from the beautiful brickwork and dappled sunlight falling through the arrow slit windows to design the floral arrangements and bouquets in rich reds, burgundies, hot pinks and magentas. I used complementary soft greens, ivories and lush foliages to reflect the beautiful surrounding Suffolk countryside”

Starting at midday, the day started with the models getting their hair and make-up done before they tried on the dresses and Alison began shooting. Using the space available both inside and outside the barn, the team carefully matched the flowers, dresses, and accessories to the selected backdrops.

“It was a pleasure to work with such a talented group of suppliers, all based in Suffolk,” says photographer Alison Harris. “Often as a photographer you know and hear of bridal boutiques and florists but rarely have the chance to meet. For me the main objective of the shoot was to ensure that everyone that contributed had their work showcased. When Amanda, the editor of A Suffolk Ceremony magazine, and I first met at Copdock Hall we knew we wanted to achieve a fashion shoot that would enable prospective brides to see the flexibility in the spaces the Hall offers.

“I think too often we associate particular types of venues with particular styles of weddings - this is something we wanted to challenge. The decision to broadly follow the theme of glamour allowed us to shoot several different looks with very different feels to them. My favourite image has to be the shot of the back of the bride in the vineyard. I really love how it shows of the shape and detailing of the dress set against the romantic colours and structure of the vineyard.”
