Be the history man and woman

The ultimate background to the ultimate occasion, historic Eastwell Manor prides itself on being the perfect venue to host the perfect day, enjoy both the wedding ceremony and reception in one stunning setting.

An English country house wedding is impossible to beat and impossible to forget.

A prestigious, imposing hotel set in the “Garden of England”. Eastwell Manor lies in 62 acres of grounds, in the midst of a three thousand acre estate.

The manor, three miles from Ashford, has a royal history with Queen Victoria and King Edward Vll being frequent visitors, and a Romanian queen was born there.

It’s a truly romantic place and the idea setting for a sumptuous wedding which will thrill the bride and groom and all their guests.

Today the regal surroundings and traditional service make Eastwell Manor a highly esteemed country house hotel.

Twenty-three individually designed elegant bedrooms, all with private bathrooms, bear witness to the rich history of the Manor as the rooms are named after previous owners, lords, ladies and gentlemen.

The lounges, billiards room and bar are graced with huge open fireplaces with stone mantles, carved panelling, leather Chesterfield sofas and fine antique furniture.

Princess Marie - who later became queen of Romania - was born at the house in 1875. In her memoirs, Queen Marie writes of “beautiful Eastwell with its great gray house, its magnificent park, with its herds of deer and picturesque Highland cattle, its lake, its woods, its garden with the old cedar tree which was our fairy mansion.”

According to legend the son of King Richard III who was defeated at the Battle of Bosworth ending the War of the Roses lived out his last days on the estate and is buried in the grounds of the ruined church which is spectacularly sited by the lake in the grounds of the manor.
