I’m a big worrier and I fear that something is going to go drastically wrong with our wedding plans, on the day, or the lead up to it. What can I do to ease my worry?

Bijou’s Advice:

It’s perfectly natural to feel worried, anxious or nervous before your wedding day - you’re taking a huge step and even though it’s tremendously exciting, there’s no doubt that you’ll have umpteen things to think about and plan prior to the big day.

At Bijou we speak to hundreds of couples each year about their forthcoming wedding plans but the one thing that we urge couples to do, in order to help us make your day run as smoothly as possible, is to communicate as much information about your dream wedding as you possibly can. Relaying plenty of information to your wedding venue in advance should help towards the smooth operation from the start of your day, right until the celebrations come to an end, whether that be on the night or the following morning.

You may have numerous companies involved in the planning of your day - from a church to your wedding reception venue, to a florist, wedding cake designer, DJ and more. The more communicative you are with them all from the moment you book them, the less worry you should have when it comes to the big day. Wedding venues and suppliers are used to working with couples on a weekly basis, so even though planning a wedding is new to you, as professionals, and even though every single wedding couple we work with is unique, we do have plenty of experience when it comes to helping achieve perfection.

Stay calm and try to enjoy the lead up to your wedding if you can, so that when the big day arrives, you’ll be fully prepared for a wonderful, and truly unforgettable experience.
