Amazing Images from 5 of the UK's Best Wedding Photographers

21 Aug 2015

The Wedding Industry Awards 2016 are now open for entries and what better way to celebrate than to take a look at last year's regional photography winners.

If you want wedding photography that will be talked about for years to come, you’ve found right place. These award-winning photographers will make your jaw drop and leave you wanting to see more.

Martin Beddall Photography

“My style of wedding photography derives from my career as a photojournalist, natural and honest documentary storytelling," says Martin. "No elaborate set-ups or ’trendy’ Photoshop effects, just moments observed and captured that tell the real story.”

“The idea is that those who did not attend the wedding, can look at the images and feel as if they were there," Martin continues. "I am shooting for several years away, so couples can look back at their wedding and see it unfold again. I try to be as unobtrusive as possible. In my opinion, the photography should reflect the day, not impose upon it.”

Martin is based in Sussex but shoots weddings all over the country (and world). In the past few months this has included Yorkshire, Dorset, Devon and North Cyprus.

Coverage starts at £1800

Sam and Louise Photography

“We're Sam and Louise, a (soon-to-be) married photography duo based in Essex. We pride ourselves on producing images that are evocative, heartfelt and genuine.”

“Our coverage is largely relaxed and free flowing and we always strive to be creative," Sam and Louise continue. "Amazing photos and wonderful memories often come from nothing but a bit of imagination. Our business essentially mirrors who we are. We're relaxed, open minded, eager to learn, to teach, to share all that we have and all that we are. We hope it shows in our photos.”

The duo are based in Essex.

Rates start at £1500 and include both Sam and Louise from prep to party.

Andy Gaines Photography

“I’m Andy and I'm based in York. I started photographing weddings three years ago and since then I have been fortunate enough to travel the world photographing nearly 200 weddings, and I couldn’t love what I do more. I feel I need to reiterate that last point: I. Couldn’t. Love. It. More.”

“This year I was really proud to be named as one of Rangefinder magazines 30 rising stars of wedding photography in the world, as well as being recognised by JuneBug Weddings on their exclusive list: Best of the Best wedding photographers in the World. I was also named the best wedding photographer in the UK at The Wedding Industry Awards 2015.”

“For me, great wedding photography has nothing to do with weddings – it is all about the people who are there and capturing who they are," says Andy. "Documenting a couple’s marriage, their family history, their relationships and what makes them tick is absolutely awesome, incredibly important and I don’t want to do anything else.”

Wedding photography from £2500.

Jamie Bott Wedding Photography

Jamie Bott is an international award winning creative documentary wedding photographer, passionate about creating bold, unique and timeless artwork from your most cherished memories and imagery that will evoke the feelings you experience on one of the most important days of your life.

Based in the idyllic north Devon, Jamie photographs weddings throughout the UK and Internationally.

Ian Bursill Photography

"I’m a Leicestershire based wedding photographer who specialises in documentary wedding photograph," says Ian. "I won’t document endless details or contrive or control moments. I record real human interaction; the display of love, life, laughter and all of those other pure and incredibly emotive moments.

"My style of documentary wedding photography, reportage or wedding photojournalism is pure, involving no intrusion or interruption to your day and without the need to set up fake moments. I guarantee that I won’t take over your day, order you around or contrive images."

"Take a look at my work – you’ll get a feel for the rapport I have with my couples, shooting the wedding as if I was an invited guest.

"In 2009, I placed third worldwide in the WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association) Wedding Photojournalist of the Year Competition. In doing so, I was the highest placed UK member gaining the title of the WPJA’s 'UK Wedding Photographer of the Year'."

"I’ve won the title of “Best Wedding Photographer” for the East Midlands region three times in the 2012, 2014 and 2015 UK Wedding Industry Awards which are based purely on client votes and feedback."

"I’m also a member of the ISPWP (International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers) where I have also won awards for my wedding photographs."

Prices start from £1490 for all-day coverage and files/slideshow on a USB drive. Various types of albums are available.
