Ashlea Ann Photography breaks down this styled shoot which centred on a vintage afternoon tea theme and celebrated girl power
A host of Essex businesswomen came together to create a styled wedding shoot, which showcased a bold and beautiful mix of bridal styles as well as each of the suppliers' individual talents.
We started out with the idea of a small styled shoot incorporating a vintage theme, then the concept grew... We decided on a vintage afternoon tea theme with a contemporary twist.
Peanut Butter And Jelly provided the two bell tents, as well as all the furnishings, outdoor rugs and rustic tables. A selection of props and products - all available for hire - were also showcased, including a Singer sewing machine and Captain's arm chair. Offering a simple yet effective wedding set-up, the bell tents really stand out in all the photographs and allow couples to consider an alternative space for an outdoor wedding.
Beautiful Brides in Clacton on Sea provided the dresses for the shoot. The team commented: "While the theme was a vintage afternoon tea yet our dresses are all new designer gowns, we could still use specific materials, colours and styles to create a vintage look. We used soft tulles, organza and lace to achieve this."
"We were also keen to showcase our new designer, Millie May, as well as the label's plus-size range, Millie Grace," they continued. "We also featured designer Margaret Lee, using lace and colour to create a striking vintage wedding look."
Hair and make-up
We used three models: Lucy Greensted, Bekki Davis and Miss Vintage Fleur. We wanted to use a variety of sizes and styles to show every bride is beautiful inside and out. Still You Makeup by Claire and Vicky Mason Hair did the hair and make-up, showcasing each model's individual style.
We wanted the cake to be in-keeping with the rustic afternoon tea style of the shoot. The naked cake, decorated with gypsophila and berries, was made by Sarah Shelley. The abundant floral arrangements were put together by Molly Louise and the stationery was created by SK Wedding Stationery. The vintage china was supplied by Daphne's Vintage Tea, who also provided an amazing afternoon tea menu which served to complement the look and feel of the shoot. Finally, the stunning vintage car was provided by VOWS - Vehicles of Wedding Style.
