The creative team behind this shoot at Sudbury House, Faringdon wanted to show that every bride, no matter their budget, can look beautiful and have a stunning wedding dress
We purposely chose not to use professional models, but to use ‘real’ ladies who wear a high street size 14/16/18. This gave us the chance to showcase a different set of gowns available from Heart Accomplice and also to represent the average UK lady. Heart Accomplice pride themselves on providing nearly new gowns for women of all shapes and sizes.
Sudbury House on the outskirts of the Cotswolds, is a beautiful venue, mixing both the modern and period features with the ‘Old House’. This Grade II listed Georgian property was originally a private residence and the new modern renovation provides plenty of room for wedding guests to stay. We used mainly the period side of the property for our shoot including the most stunning elegant bridal suite complete with separate living area and beautiful bathroom with huge roll top bath – it meant we all had plenty of space to work on the day. The gardens are beautiful and provide so many quirky photo opportunities. These features along with a sweeping staircase, stunning chandeliers and huge Georgian bay windows meant it was the perfect venue. Sudbury House is also home to the award-winning Restaurant 56 so they certainly know a thing or two about food.
Sophie Snow worked her magic with a simple and elegant bouquet of Avalanche roses, dotted with different textures of greenery to provide a modern twist.
The hair, make-up and dresses
The team decided on two key looks to show off a variety of dresses. The first was a vintage inspired look created by Kamila at The Beauty Spot. Model Sandra’s dark hair was complemented with some vintage waves and simple head pieces. The vintage look was finished with smokey eyes and a strong berry lip.
With the second model, Amber, The Beauty Spot team worked their magic with a modern take on a classic look by creating a number of twists to sweep up into a classic up do. This was complemented by a modern strong smokey eye and natural lips. This look provided a good contrast to the first.
All hair pieces and jewellery were provided by The Wedding Fairy & Friends – who also do home shopping parties which is a fantastic idea for some wedding planning time with friends.
