For the first time in its 95 year history, Sandy Balls Holiday Village is offering couples an amazing opportunity to get married in the beautiful and magical 120 acre estate - something newlyweds Scott and Steph Phillips enjoyed when they became the first couple to have their wedding ceremony at this unique venue on Saturday September 6.
The new Mr and Mrs Phillips from Ruislip in London, were keen to have a natural, outdoors themed wedding. They got married at the Forest Lodge overlooking the stunning escarpment before holding a special ceremony in front of 100 of their family and friends in the Greenwood meadow. Their wedding reception and celebrations also took place in this secluded, scenic spot.
Commenting on choosing to have their wedding ceremony and celebrations at Sandy Balls, Steph Phillips said: “We chose Sandy Balls because both of us have been holidaying here since we were teenagers, and it holds some very special memories of brilliant times for us. We said how we envisioned our big day to be and sandy Balls has made it happen.
“We feel incredibly lucky to be the first people married here! A big thank you to Sandy Balls for making our special day one to remember.”
Located in Godshill near Fordingbride on the edge of the New Forest National Park, the Sandy Balls estate boasts magnificent views of the Avon Valley, endless beauty spots for a memorable wedding day and is bordered by the scenic banks of the River Avon.
The holiday village has licensed two rooms for ceremonies - the Forest Lodge and the Woodside Suite. Newlyweds-to-be looking for an intimate ceremony can get married in the Forest Lodge overlooking the breathtaking nature reserve, with up to 30 guests sharing the moment with them. This luxury hideaway is also perfect for small drinks receptions.
The Woodside Suite is a flexible room suitable for larger wedding ceremonies and receptions. Opening on to a courtyard where drinks can be served, the suite can accommodate up to 120 guests for a ceremony and wedding breakfast and 150 for an evening party.
The estate’s woodland setting also makes it perfect for outdoor receptions, blessing and evening parties, with the Greenwood meadow an ideal place for those looking for laidback marquee celebrations in a peaceful spot. Getting married at Sandy Balls offers a host of unique options which enables engaged couples to enjoy a tailor made day to suit their individual requirements.
