How did you meet?
Through a friend.
Tell us about the proposal.
Lee proposed on the stairs on the day we moved into our forever home.
What was the theme for the day, and did you have a colour scheme?
The theme was shabby chic and the colour scheme was lilac.
What venue did you choose and why did you choose it?
We chose Little Channels in Chelmsford as we fell in love with this venue right away. We felt it went with our theme.
When did you know when you’d found ‘the’ dress?
The day I tried it on after trying on seven other dresses. It was an Enzoani dress.
What did the bridesmaids wear?
The bridesmaid and flowergirl wore a high street dress customised by Lee's mother.
Where did you find your suits?
Jack Bunneys in Upminster
Tell us about your floral arrangements.
The hand bouquet was a wedding gift from a good friend (Mandy Marvels) and the bouquet consisted of white lilies, white roses, eucalyptus, ivy and gyp which was tied up with Kraft string and I attached a blue calming crystal.
Often the aspect that makes a wedding original to the couple is the detail – tell us about the details of the day.
Our favours were homemade candles in jars for the day guests and herbal sachets for the evening guests with a drink token. We had a magician to entertain our day guests when we had our photos taken and hired a band for the evening.
How did you feel as you walked down the aisle?
Excited and happy to start the rest of my life with my best friend.
What was your most memorable moment?
Finishing the evening with all of our family and friends outside writing messages in the sky with sparklers.
What was the most challenging aspect of planning this wedding?
Nothing. I was a very laid-back bride and enjoyed every minute of planning the big day.
What was the most important investment for you?
The band we hired, Black and Gold booked via Ear Candy. They were 100% worth it.
What song did you choose for your first dance?
Ed Sheeran ‘Perfect’
Tell us about your wedding cake.
The wedding cake consisted of 100 white rose piped cupcakes in lace cases displayed on a seven-tier wooden log stand made by Mandy’s Marvels.
If you could go back and change anything, what would it be?
Nothing, it was the best day ever.
Did anything go wrong on the day?
We had 'lucky' rain in the morning. However, after we said our 'I dos', the sun came out just in time for our photos.
Where did you go on honeymoon?
We went on honeymoon four days after the wedding. We spent two weeks in our family home in L’Escala, Spain with three nights in Barcelona at The Grand Hotel.
Do you have any advice for couples in the planning stages?
Enjoy every moment of it. Make some items yourself if you can as it makes the day more personal.
