The venue was never discussed for our wedding; it was always going to be Peckforton Castle. Daniel’s family owns it, he works in the business and even though I’ve been living there for years it still takes my breath away.
I woke up early on the day as my hair and make-up artist Richard Harvey and his team arrived. It was thanks to my photographer, Caroline White, that I found Richard as three weeks before my previous make-up artist had cancelled.
As Richard and his team focussed on making us look fabulous, Caroline arrived to start capturing those special moments.
My nerves began to kick in as I was stepping into my dress; a fishtail gown with lots of sparkle I found at The Ivory Lounge in Chester. I could see our guests arriving through the window and my heart was pounding. Before I knew it my dad had arrived to collect me from my room.
Walking down the aisle in the chapel was a real honour as the building is not licensed for weddings, but we had been granted special permission to have our service there. It went so quickly but I remember it so clearly. It was such a magical moment.
Our day was overseen by Stephen Sanders, an excellent toastmaster who somehow manages to ensure the day runs perfectly.
He called our guests to be seated for the wedding breakfast and we walked into the room to a huge applause.
The room looked breathtaking. Mat Hepplestone’s brief was white, cream and ivory flowers with sparkle and he surpassed our expectations with hoards of avalanche roses, peonies and lilies cascading from archways, table centres and our bouquets.
Lisa from Diva Designer Cakes also delivered a bespoke ten tier ivory cake full of details from my beautiful dress.
The speeches were great. My dad, Daniel and his best man Adam, all did us proud.
Our evening reception began on the lawn where we greeted our guests in the sunshine then headed inside for our first dance in the Great Hall which had been transformed into a party room.
