A hot pink, tropical wedding shoot

21 Aug 2017

Featuring hot pink and green flowers, statement stationery, and slate placemats, this tropical bridal shoot boasts a bold, contemporary style

Hazel Parsons of Hazel Parsons Wedding & Events Consultancy takes us behind the scenes of her tropical bridal shoot. Taking place at Carbis Bay Hotel and Spa, the shoot took advantage of the venue’s bright conservatory and access to Carbis Bay Beach.

What was the inspiration behind the shoot?

We wanted to create a modern and contemporary styled shoot with a touch of fun.

Tell us a little bit about the venue and why it was chosen

The venue was Carbis Bay Hotel and Spa. The venue is situated in its own private estate and gardens overlooking the white sands of Carbis Bay Beach. The style and location of this venue lent itself to the inspiration behind our shoot. The light, bright and white conservatory within the hotel gave stylist Jenny Wren a blank canvas to work with. The colours were chosen so that they would really pop against the neutral backdrop.

What did you choose for the flower arrangements?

We used hot pink and green flowers including orchids and gerberas to fit in with the theme, along with green foliage to create a tropical feel.

What kind of look did you want to achieve with the make-up, hair and outfits for the bride and groom?

We chose a sleek, sophisticated look with a laid back beach vibe.

What was the thinking behind the décor for the shoot? How did you tie it all together?

Cerise pink and apple green complement each other beautifully and were introduced using granny smith apples, pink tipped feathers, satin ribbons, statement stationery and of course the gorgeous flowers which added a tropical vibe.

What kind of accessories were used to create these looks and why?

Crisp white linen and slate placemats added to the bold look and the twiggy centrepieces gave a contemporary feel and gave reference to the landscape around us.
