Silchester House in Berkshire - part of the Bijou Weddings portfolio - recently teamed up with Sonning Flowers, Ambience Venue Styling, Reading, and Laura Anderson Photography to create a vision of how the venue can be transformed, with a glamorous country house theme in mind. The team focussed on what they felt were the most important parts of the day; from the emotion captured as the bride is walking down the grand staircase in to the wedding ceremony room, to the elegantly styled reception tables, offering a view across the beautifully manicured lawns and gardens.
The ceremony set-up
The wedding ceremony was styled using a new floral moon arch, contributed by Sonning Flowers; a perfect floral backdrop for a wedding indoors and out. Ice Chiavari chairs were enhanced with chestnut coloured sashes and large hurricane lanterns, available to hire from from Bijou, completed the style.
Several different wedding reception table designs were created, all carrying the country house glamour theme.
Glittering rose gold table cloths sparkled as the light shone through to the bright and airy Music Room where both wedding ceremonies and receptions are held at Silchester House. Disney inspired table place cards were used alongside crystal decanters filled with pretty stems and gold table numbers. Larger floral arrangement centrepieces styled by Sonning Flowers featured feathers from a pheasant; an unusual yet perfectly fitting accessory for a country house wedding theme.
Grey coloured church candles perched on chunky candle holders surrounded by strands of elegant pearls looked sensational. And, with the release of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, the team thought to fill old silver tea and coffee pots with pretty florals, stood alongside glass candle sticks to add a touch of current fun to this styled shoot. A vintage table set-up featuring roses in old vintage tea cups and candles on mirrored trays looked simply divine, placed on top of a glamorous lace table runner.
Silchester House boasts a grand, wooden staircase which leads up to one of two bridal suites and the remaining guest suites which stretch from one end of the country house to the other. Sonning Flowers decorated the bannister with foliage from top to bottom and placed gold-hammered pots filled with a combination of stylish blooms and feathers on every other step. This setting looked ultra-glamorous and gave the home a true country woodland feel.
There are a total of five beautiful fire places on the ground floor at Silchester House alone; another opportunity to highlight a country house glamour wedding theme. Taking advantage of the space, the team created a home for a vintage-style vanity case, to be used as a card drop.
