On the day of our wedding I got ready at my own house. It was very busy as there were five bridesmaids, my mum and my dad there. I was fairly calm in the morning and managed to hold it together until my sister, Liz handed me a surprise gift from Ian. He had written a lovely card and had wrapped up a personalised copy of Pride and Prejudice (one of my favourite books) which contained our own names as the characters of Elizabeth Bennett and Mark Darcy.
As the morning progressed, I got more nervous and a little overwhelmed when I put my dress on. We rode in a limo to Ordsall Hall, sipping champagne all the way. It was lovely to have all of my family around me on the journey.
We chose Ordsall Hall, near Salford Quay because we’d already decided The Lowry Theatre was the perfect location for our reception, but we were looking for somewhere different for the ceremony. Even though we were having a civil ceremony we still wanted the service to have a traditional and intimate feel. We were told about Ordsall Hall and decided to take a look. We were instantly blown away by the splendor of the Hall it literally took our breath away. The day went so quickly and we had such a brilliant time with all our favourite people in one place enjoying themselves. It made us feel proud that all our hard work had paid off and we had created something so successful together.
