The planning
Unfortunately, Covid meant our wedding date was changed three times. The support from our families and friends helped us to remain positive. Our suppliers were also amazing, especially my make-up artist, Leanne, as her own wedding was also affected.
The dress
My dress was by Madison James Bridal, bought from Adella Bridal in Norfolk. This was the first and only place I visited. My dress is the style I loved but I kept my options open and tried on around five different dress styles. Amy, the owner at Adella Bridal, had saved my dress until the end, and I’m so glad she did. We were blown away and it was the perfect ending to my dress shopping experience. The detail is stunning, I felt like a princess.
The venue
Kesgrave Hall in Ipswich is a special place to us; we have visited many times since being together. Jamie proposed there on a surprise last-minute getaway. We knew we had to view it as a potential wedding venue afterwards and didn’t look back, we didn’t want to view anywhere else. The staff at Kesgrave Hall were amazing on the day and ensured everything ran smoothly.
The outfits
We didn’t have a particular theme but I love pink, so that had to be our colour for the bridesmaids' dresses. The groom and groomsman wore taupe, check suits from Debenhams. We chose a navy waistcoat to break up the pattern.
The hair and make-up
I knew I wanted glam make-up to match both mine and my bridesmaids' detailed dresses, Leanne made us look and feel a million dollars. I kept my hair simple with a Hollywood-style curl and a simple low bun as the top of my dress was so detailed.
The flowers
For our flowers, I knew I wanted a mixture of blush and deep pinks and a variety of roses, with hydrangeas in the larger arrangements.
The ceremony
Neither of us felt nervous on the morning; it was all very surreal that it was finally happening. Jamie felt nervous right at the last minute, and I was more emotional than nervous. Seeing Jamie and having my dad to cling on to took the weight off.
The reception
Another reason that we chose Kesgrave Hall was because of the amazing food, and it did not disappoint. We had many compliments from our guests.
We had a cocktail DJ session outside for our drinks reception and I’m so glad we did, it worked perfectly at our venue. Our evening entertainment was England playing in the Euros football final. We warmed up with a football song in the speeches. We also had our DJ outside due to restrictions, but it was the perfect alternative for those who didn’t wish to watch the football.
Our first dance was to Jubel's cover of Dancing In The Moonlight. We love this song and when this version was released, we knew it was our choice.
The cake
Our cake was by The Beautiful Cakery and it was simply stunning. She made our vision come to life and the cake was delicious. We had so many compliments from our guests, who demolished the salted caramel layer.
The photography
We chose our photographer because we love her style of light, pastel-toned images, which suited us and our day perfectly. We’re so pleased with our wedding photos and are so grateful to Charlotte for capturing every detail yet so discreetly.
The honeymoon
We went to Greece a couple of months after the wedding. It was so nice to have something else to look forward to afterwards.
