Brides have a big day at our Cheltenham wedding show

Bride-in-waiting Lauren Wood took four of her seven bridesmaids for a girlie day out at Bride: The Wedding Show at Cheltenham Racecourse on St Valentine’s weekend and got bags of inspiration for her big event.

Lauren, from Cheltenham, who marries Marcus Finch at Puckrup Hall, Tewkesbury, in September, was joined by Kaylee Finch, Vicci Maskell, Kerrie Bourke and Hollie-May Bourke at the show which attracted 1,200 brides, friends and families looking for wedding ideas and suppliers.

The girls sang and danced their way around the show hall, stopping off at a wide range of experts which included bridal wear, photographers, stationers, florists, jewellers, milliners, caterers, venues and entertainers.

Lauren said: “We have had a great day out; the catwalk show was absolutely brilliant. I am looking for all sorts of things and this has given me lots of inspiration, and it’s been a great day out.”

Mike Sherrard, Bride managing director, said: “We were delighted with our Cheltenham wedding show. We strongly believed that this area needed a wedding show of substance such as Bride: The Wedding Show - and the turnout from brides-to-be shows that we were right to invest in the event. We hope that more suppliers will join us, to ensure that the show can grow from strength to strength in the years to come.”

Millie Smith of exhibitor Amazing Venues said: “The show was successful for us with increased awareness of our venue and a good number of showrounds booked in for the coming weeks.”

The three-times-a-day choreographed catwalk included dresses from Cotswold Bride and Mystia Bridal Boutique of Gloucester, outfits from John Lewis (who supplied goodies for the goody bags), and groomswear from Slaters.

Copies of the new Cotswold Bride magazine which is packed with inspirational stories, real weddings, advice from brides and professionals and the latest wedding trends, were given away. You can get your free copy (99p post and packaging) at www.buyamag.co.uk/Regional-Magazines/Cotswold-Bride
