Bride: The Wedding Awards category:  Photographer of the Year

What does your business do? How does it stand out from the competition?

Holiday Inn Norwich North is a hotel with conference and banqueting facilities. It houses the largest ballroom in Norfolk and seven event rooms with three main wedding suites including The Halifax Wedding Suite and The Lancaster Ballroom. Based at the airport, the hotel is perfectly positioned for wedding guests travelling from further afield. The courtyard garden is ideal for drinks receptions, photography and outdoor weddings. The hotel even hosts regular successful tribute nights and themed nights, as well as dinner dances.

How long has your business been running?

It has been a hotel since the '80s and has been Holiday Inn branded for the past seven years.

Why are you sponsoring the 2018 Bride: The Wedding Awards?

We are proud to sponsor the wedding awards as we are a popular wedding and banqueting venue and we work closely with many local wedding suppliers including photographers, venue decorators, DJs, florists, chauffered cars, balloon artists, toastmasters and magicians. It's always good to support fellow wedding businesses.

Why should a business enter your category?

Photographers, particularly, are usually small businesses or single individuals, so it’s good to shout about what they do and how they are individual. Be recognised for a very personal and great job.

What advice would you give to a business entering your category?

Be creative, tell us what you do differently from others when shooting a wedding, get feedback from couples and share your favourite wedding shot.

Why should a couple nominate one of their wedding suppliers in your category?

The professional photographer is the one that captures their memories of probably the best day of their lives. There isn’t any practice, its just the trust of that person with the camara to deliver the couple with what they have dreamed of in their wedding pictures. With Smartphones there are many more pictures taken on the day nowadays, but it’s the photographer that usually gets the perfect shot with the right lighting and backdrop. No one knows what the photos will be like until they are seen, sometimes a few weeks after the big day, so if a couple is thrilled by what they see/saw, and the photograph has given them a 'wow' moment then they should nominate.
