Wedding costs continue to soar as the average cost for 2018 has been revealed as £32,273, a 19% increase on last year's average

The trend for bigger and better weddings shows no signs of slowing down with the average wedding now costing £32,273.
Revealed as part of a survey conducted by wedding website Hitched.co.uk, which collected data from more than 3,300 brides, the 2018 average cost signals a 19% annual growth and is also the highest average known to date.
London was shown to have the highest wedding cost with an average of £41,521, while Yorkshire proved the most budget-conscious with an average wedding cost of £27,245.
Venue hire was revealed as the biggest outlay for couples at £5,221, followed by the honeymoon (£4,545), food (£4,151), engagement ring (£2,657), and drinks (£1,769). The research also discovered the top five types of wedding venue with barns/farms, hotels and country houses taking the top three spots and historic buildings and marquees/pavilions coming in at third and fourth place respectively.
