“I was asked by Eliza who runs the Hampshire Wedding Supplier Directory and Facebook page, part of the Wedding Gateway supplier network, to assist with the planning of a collaborative shoot. She wanted to showcase the variety of suppliers as well as their skills and expertise. There were a few newly established businesses on the directory so as well as looking to network with other wedding suppliers it was thought that a collaborative shoot would also give individual suppliers some material and experience with which to promote themselves and others involved.
“Eliza initially chose a monochrome colour scheme and while still vintage by inspiration we wanted to focus on the sleek sophisticated glamour of the 1920s rather than the floral influence that is currently so popular. With the popularity of the recent film The Great Gatsby, it was easy to find ideas and influences to suit our theme. Lots of delicate beading and elegant silhouettes were prominent within the new season’s bridal fashion.
“While researching this era we found that the art deco style was richly accented with metallics and jewels and in particular emeralds and rubies. We chose these as our accent colours to show how versatile a monochrome colour scheme can be and how a pop of colour can highlight even the smallest of details.
We wanted the shoot to inspire brides, combine a modern colour scheme with classic, elegant, vintage glamour to create a striking, stylish, sophisticated and timeless look.”
