Here’s how to bring your favourite book to life on your wedding day
From childhood classics to gripping mysteries, many stories stay with us throughout our lives and take us back to a particular time in our lives. Many couples find a novel that they both adore reading together, so it's no wonder that brides and grooms want to include these magical memories in their big day.
Here are 11 ways to bring your favourite story to life on your big day:
A traditional horse-drawn carriage turns a wedding day into a fairytale whether you choose a coach and pair or an ornate, Cinderella-inspired carriage. Choose your favourite breed to pull the wedding carriage or if you have your own steed, why not have pictures on horseback as you trek around the grounds of your venue in your gown.
To keep kids entertained at weddings, create a creche or reading corner with a collection of children's books. Why not hire a prince or princess for the day to read out fairytales of happily ever afters to the children?
For a subtle nod towards your favourite novel, add a themed wedding cake topper which includes a quote or imagery from the book.
Get creative with your centrepieces by stacking a collection of vintage or rustic books for a boho theme, or feature statues of famous storybook characters.
Take the pages from your favourite book or love story to create your own paper bouquet. Not only are they unique, but you can keep it after your big day. For the groom, do the same with your buttonholes or add peronalised cufflinks tailored to your favourite fictional series.
Display your seating plans on printed story book pages or create a bespoke frame themed around your favourite book.
Name each table after locations or characters from your favourite book. Why not theme each table to match its name, such as a green table for Slytherin House from Harry Potter, or a white table to represent North of the Wall in Game of Thrones?
Make your favourite book come to life with themed wedding favours. Consider personalised 'Golden Tickets' with your name and wedding date on akin to those from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, engraved wands from Harry Potter, or 'Drink Me' boozy shots from Alice in Wonderland.
For the ultimate fairytale theme, get inspired by your favourite princess character for your wedding dress. A dreamy dress in Cinderella blue springs to mind...
Feature some iconic treats from your favourite novels; from Bertie Bots' Every Flavour Beans in Harry Potter, to 'Eat Me' cookies from Alice in Wonderland, or gooey chocolate fudge cake from Matilda.
Decorate your venue with quotes, signs and imagery from your favourite book. Why not book a venue which is similar to a location in your favourite story?
