Weddings are all about the little details that make your day perfect. Try incorporating one or two of these into your day for those memorable moments…
1 Dad time
Make time for dad. He has the pressure of walking down the aisle almost as much as you. Buy a bottle of something with a kick to it and take a moment to sit down and relax together before he gives you away.
2 Get creative
At the meal, instead of numbering the tables why not give them names. How about places of significance, types of flower or relate them to your theme, if you have one.
3 Cocktail flair
Instead of the usual welcome glass of champagne at the reception offer your guests Bride/Groom cocktails. Get the bar tender to mix up cocktails that represent you. This time guests are allowed to switch sides depending on which they fancy.
4 Love letters
If you’re writing your own vows why not write them as poems, or if you’re really daring sing them! Be creative.
5 Say cheese
Make your guest book extra special by leaving a Polaroid camera on the table next to it so guests can stick pictures in too. This will fill in anything that your photographer might miss and is sure to capture some funny moments too!
6 Child’s play
Create an area for children to play in and consider providing entertainment, so parents can take it in turns looking after them. This will free your guests up so that they can enjoy themselves.
7 It’s all in the detail
Everyone loves surprises. For added romance on your special day, plan little surprises for each other. You could each keep one element of the day a secret and it would mean less planning!
8 Comfort first
Even with the best fitting wedding shoes there’s nothing worse than sore feet spoiling your night, so buy some special sandals to slip on if you need them. Get your chief bridesmaid to look after them for you. How about these £35, ASOS.
9 Movie star
Get those special moments captured on video. You won’t want to forget the saying of vows and speeches. Book a photographer who can do both photos and film to save some cash.
10 Special moments
Your day is about celebrating past good times too. Set up a slideshow of pictures to be projected on a wall or screen at the reception. If you’re super-organised you could even include pictures from the hen and stag nights.
