10 Stunning Wedding Pictures from 2015

08 Jan 2016

2015 was a year of outstanding wedding photography, so Bride has collated 10 beautiful images that represent what weddings are all about in a single snapshot from some excellent photographers in the field. Lorna Dockerill helps us get inspired

Romance, intimacy and happiness – these are the things that couples hope their wedding photographers will capture on their big day, regardless of the weather, the venue and any hiccups.

Over the course of 2015, Bride has featured some stunning wedding photography and so we’ve chosen some of our favourite images from professional photographers in the UK. From images that showcase an exquisite bride, to pictures that evoke emotion, here is a collection of inspirational wedding moments photographed with skill.

1. Golden light
Why we love it: From the golden light to the   bride’s veil flowing in the wind, this shot by Nick Murray shows how much the bride and groom are enjoying this idyllic, stolen moment together.

2. Moody woodland
Why we love it:
This shot has a wonderfully old-fashioned feel to it, as though it’s a frame from a black and white film. The dark woodland adds to the atmosphere surrounding the bride and groom.

3. The moment before a bride is revealed
Why we love it:
Full of anticipation and excitement, the moment before bridesmaids and the mother of the bride see the leading lady of the day is a treasured memory. Tony Hart nailed it perfectly.

4. A natural smile
Why we love it:
There can be so many staged photographs at a wedding, so it’s always refreshing to see the natural smile of a beautiful bride. Kevin Mullins shows us a shining example.

5. Starring the bridesmaids
Why we love it: Bridesmaids should never be underestimated at a wedding – they calm the bride’s nerves, are often key in the organising of day and are usually true friends and beloved family members. This fun image shows the lovely relationship between the bride and her bridesmaids.

6. A kiss on the head
Why we love it: Kerry Morgan’s editorial photography style works wonders at weddings, and this picture shows us how colour and romance can create harmony.

7. Looking good on the dance floor
Why we love it: After a long day, one of the first married moments that a couple experiences together is on the dance floor. In this candid shot, it looks as though the bride and groom are the only people in the room.

8. Graceful beauty
Why we love it:
Original wedding photography can be difficult to come by, and results from photographers thinking outside of the box. Not only does this picture show a different side of this bride’s beauty and elegant dress, but it shows how a photographer can use light to create contrast and a piece of black and white art.

9. All about the dress
Why we love it:
Showcasing the gown which a bride has probably deliberated over carefully and thoughtfully is essential. This image ticks all the boxes, with its shape, detail and the impression it makes on others translated into one shot.

10. Telling a story
This image speaks volumes. Could it be a snapshot of anticipation just before the bride is about to head to the church? Or could she have spotted the wedding car arriving? A great image tells a story, and this picture does just that.
