23 Mar 2017
As a nation that continues to be fascinated by the private (and not so private) lives of celebrities, here are some of our favourite declarations of love from 10 top power couples
1. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Also known as ‘Kimye’, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have been known to wear their hearts on their sleeves… and Kanye has made many a profession of love for his reality TV queen (albeit not so eloquently).
Kanye on Kim: "Our love story's a love story for the ages. I felt like when we first got together, it was like a Romeo and Juliet kinda’ thing where it's like she's a reality star and I'm a rapper."
2. Beyoncé and Jay Z
Despite being one of the most hailed couples in the world, Beyoncé and Jay-Z keep their personal life out of the spotlight. However, the couple are well known for pouring their heart and soul into their music and using lyrics as a medium to showcase their love for each other.
From Picasso Baby by Jay Z: “Sleeping every night next to Mona Lisa / The modern day version with better features.”
3. David and Victoria Beckham
This UK A-list partnership defines ‘power couple’, having elevated their surname as a brand in its own right. Although their relationship has been subject to much media scrutiny and speculation over the years, David and Victoria have always upheld a united front and continue to build their empire as a six-strong family.
Victoria said: "We always make time for each other as a couple and as a family. David and I have nothing to prove. We love each other, look out for each other and are strong as both partners and parents."
4. George and Amal Clooney
Now parents to twins, Ella and Alexander, the Clooneys are pretty perfect as couples come. Married in Venice on 27th September, 2014, George said:
"My verdict on being Mr. and Mrs. Clooney? It feels pretty damn great. I knew fairly quickly that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Amal. I think about three days in, you could tell. I mean, I knew when I met her that she was so extraordinary and special"… and with beauty and brains (Amal is an international human rights lawyer), what more could George ask for?
5. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel
Since coupling up in 2007, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have continuously proved that their relationship is #couplegoals. They now have a son, Silas, who was born in 2015 and their regular displays of support for one another on Instagram shows that they are happier than ever.
On Jessica, Justin says: Every once in a while I catch a glimpse of her when she's not looking and I think if you never make a good decision again - if you only make bad decisions for the rest of your life, you made one really good decision."
On Justin, Jessica says:"It just feels incredible; you have this partner who is going to be with you and change lightbulbs, do dishes with you. I think that weirdest and most wonderful thing is that word, that's my husband."
6. Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively
So beautiful it hurts, this couple aren’t just easy-on-the-eye but they’re also madly in love. Now parents of two, when Blake gave birth to their first child, a daughter named James, Ryan said:

7. Barack and Michelle Obama
Will America ever be the same again without this incredible couple at the helm?
Their picture perfect life makes us green with envy, yet we can't dislike them because they are such beautiful people... inside and out. His admirable handling of his presidency, her tireless campaigning and super cool moves as part of the Let's Move initiative; they are the couple most will aspire to... even after 27 years of marriage.
During his farewell address in Chicago, Barack Obama - his eyes filling with tears - said: "Michelle Lavaughn Robinson, girl of the South Side; for the past 25 years you have not only been my wife and the mother of my children, you have been my best friend. You took on a role you didn't ask for and you made it your own with grace, with grit and with style. You made the White House a place that belongs to everybody and a new generation sets its sights higher because it has you as a role model. You have made me proud and you have made the country proud."
Amen to that.
8. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith
Outshining most Hollywood golden couples, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have been married for more than 20 years and the flame is still burning if these declarations are anything to go by.
Jada on Will: "Here's what I trust: The man that Will is, is a man of integrity. He's got all the freedom in the world... as long as Will can look in the mirror and be okay, I'm good."
Will on Jada: "Jada is magical. Part of why I love her is things happen in a way they shouldn't happen, they shouldn't go that way. She has this magical power."
