Struggling to settle on your first dance song? When decision-making proves difficult, turn to Disney
Whether you're dreaming of a fairytale wedding or looking for the perfect song that offers meaningful lyrics and a harmonious melody, Disney could have the perfect fit for your first dance. From catchy up tempo tunes to oh-so romantic ballads, there is a whole repetoire of songs waiting to be selected for your wedding...
1. Can You Feel The Love Tonight
Everything Elton John touches turns to gold, and the soundtrack for cinematic classic The Lion King is a first class Disney favourite. Make like Simba and Nala on your wedding day and choose a song where everyone can join in on the chorus.
2. A Whole New World
Your chance to play the part of a Disney princess and your partner, a Disney prince. Get lost in the lyrics and find yourself "soaring, tumbling, freewheeling through an endless diamond sky".
3. You've Got A Friend In Me
A less gushy option which still retains the core values of a first dance song. Sentimental and upbeat, the title track from Toy Story will serve to raise a smile - and shed a tear - among your wedding guests.
4. Tale As Old As Time
Be our guest and enjoy the magic and enchantment of Beauty and the Beast.
5. I See The Light
One of the more recent Disney favourites, but still an emotion-filled first choice. This love song from Tangled features sweet harmonies and a belting chorus that will keep your younger guests happy. What's more, you could even recreate the entire scene if you choose to get married at Lake Bled, Slovenia - on which the film set bears a striking resemblance.
6. You'll Be In My Heart
Taken from Tarzan, this Phil Collins anthem exudes passion. Just make sure the groom (or best man) refrains from any gorilla-inspired impressions.
7. Love Will Find A Way
We're not usually advocates of follow-up films, especially when the first instalment succeeds on so many levels - but this anthem from The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride well and truly tugs on the heartstrings. Elton John, it is not, but we still love it.
8. Married Life
Although this one has no lyrics, the notes speak volumes. The association with Up will no doubt cause a few to well up, but this happy and uplifting tune will get your guests' toes a-tapping.
9. When You Wish Upon A Star
There have been several reworks of this charming tune, but the original will always remain at the top of the charts thanks to Pinocchio. Nostalgic, captivating and thought-provoking, it gives us the hope that wishes really can come true.
10. Kiss the Girl
With Sebastian's Jamaican tones and Caribbean instrumentals, Kiss The Girl offers all the components for a modern day fairytale first dance. Just a word of advice... don't opt for the Peter Andre version.
