The experts at Bijou Wedding Venues return for their second 'tip of the month' this year and in this instalment, advise on how to draw up your wedding guest list.
February top wedding venue tip: Planning your wedding guest list
Before starting your wedding venue search, it is advisable to sit down as a couple and discuss how many guests you would like to invite to your wedding. Start by making a rough list of friends and family members for each side.
You may also want to consider having a separate evening wedding guest list at this stage. Adding your ‘day guest’ list together should give you a rough figure of how many people you’ll be inviting to your wedding which will be a great start when it comes to finding an appropriate wedding venue. Wedding venues will always share their minimum and maximum guest capacities with you. If you don’t meet the minimum requirement you will more than likely end up paying a supplement, but when it comes to maximum numbers you won’t be able to exceed them.
When you visit wedding venues you should be able to imagine how your guest numbers should fit within the space provided. Browse through real wedding stories on the venue’s website to gain a sense of space or take a virtual tour around the venue before and after you visit to remind yourselves of what the venue looks like.
