Summer weddings at Pennard House, Glastonbury

A new wedding venue in Somerset offers brides-to-be the perfect place for their bohemian-chic wedding

Private hire manor house to those in the know, Pennard House is offering brides the opportunity to wed in a Grade II listed stately home, complete with Victorian outdoor freshwater swimming pool, located on the edge of the iconic Glastonbury Festival site. Adored home to the young Dearden family, Pennard House is entirely fresh to the bridal industry, having never been promoted as a wedding venue before. This creates a uniquely youthful atmosphere for brides to enjoy; each personal touch is truly original.

A brand new pavilion on the lawn tennis court creates an intimate outdoor space for wedding ceremonies, though there is also a charming 14th century village Church situated just beyond the Pennard House lawns. Within the 130 acre estate are picturesque apple orchards and an idyllic rose garden creating the perfect backdrop for romantic photographs and allowing guests to unwind in the secluded Somerset countryside. After the ceremony, guests can congregate on the South-facing terrace for drinks and canapés, before a formal wedding meal in the recently renovated Coach House, comfortably seating up to 120 guests.

Having played host to Vogue, Marie Claire, record companies and A-list celebrities, wedding parties at Pennard House will be in distinguished company, soaking in the understated glamour and bohemian elegance that Pennard House has become famous for. The epitome of Somerset cool, Pennard House exudes a quintessentially British charm, attracting a discerning bride with its easy-going, family atmosphere and history of impeccable events.

The Coach House has been specifically designed by award-winning architects Llewellyn-Harker with events and weddings in mind. From the original Grade II listed stable bays forming intimate booths to the modern lighting scheme, dance-floor and fully stocked bar, the Coach House combines historic features and modern style with stunning results. In addition to this event space is an open-plan dining area to enjoy a bespoke menu created by the Pennard House team. The Coach House is a blank canvas, allowing brides to create their dream venue adding a truly personal touch to their special day.

In addition to complimentary use of the charming bridal suite, the Orchard Room, Pennard House is also available on a bed and breakfast basis for additional guests. The main house sleeps twelve adults in classic English country bedrooms, with a further ten adults able to sleep under the stars in luxury handmade 16ft tipis within the grounds.

With the Pennard House team working quietly behind the scenes, this unforgettable venue promises to exceed all expectations, creating an exquisite experience for the bride, groom and all of their loved ones.
