Bride's top product picks from Sell My Wedding
09 Jan 2018
Archant Bride has partnered with pre-loved marketplace Sell My Wedding and here, we share our top picks from the site
If you’re a bride-to-be looking for wedding items at a fraction of the cost or if you’re a new bride looking to sell on pre-loved products, then Archant Bride can point you in the right direction.
Sell My Wedding is an online marketplace for recycled wedding items and Archant Bride has joined forces to offer readers access to the platform directly from BrideMagazine.co.uk/shop.
Providing a more affordable way to shop for a wedding, Sell My Wedding connects brides-to-be with brides whose wedding has been and gone to share items that can make their big day just as beautiful. There are currently more than 8,000 items for sale and hire – from dresses to décor, and users can even create a list of favourite items as well as post directly to Pinterest boards. While brides can browse and buy from the site for free, businesses wishing to sell items can sign up for a fee of £100 for six months and private sellers, a one-off fee of £10.
Here are five of Bride's top product picks straight from the site:
1. Rustic and natural inspired table décor
From tree slice centrepieces to moss covered table numbers, there is a whole host of rustic inspired venue décor on Sell My Wedding. We particularly like this sunflower/woodland themed decoration package, available from Northampton and priced at £1,234. This comprises a moss R&J sign, wooden hanging lanterns, personalised postbox, garden Jenga, table runners, bunting and much more.
Take a look at these other rustic decorations:
12 jars with white lace, £10, Wolverhampton
Eight birch tree stumps, £40, Waterlooville
2. Metallic décor and collections of vintage glassware
The metallic trend is still a popular fixture for weddings and will continue apace into 2018. These handmade geometric brass centrepieces from Geo Attic (£45) can look just as effective when suspended around your venue or displayed alongside your wedding flowers.
Arrangements of glassware and vases are also a popular centrepiece idea for quick and creative decor that is both budget-friendly and impactful - such as this copper jug from seller Heather Hardy in London (£15).
3. Hanging décor
Paper lanterns and metres of handmade bunting, especially when they are sold as a bulk purchase, are particularly popular items on Sell My Wedding. Transforming venue ceilings in a matter of seconds, hanging décor is a tasteful way to decorate a venue without having to do much on the floor.
4. DIY touches
From glittered table numbers to hand painted signs, brides' DIY efforts can still be put to good use after the big day with the help of Sell My Wedding.
These rich chair wreaths comprising artificial hydrangeas, foliage, and berries from London (£45 o.n.o) will make any top table stand out.
Similarly, this amusing 'Dancefloor rules' wooden sign will be a sure-fire hit among guests at any wedding day.
5. Hire items
New brides are also choosing to hire out their items rather than selling them, which is a cost-effective option for buyers who don't want to keep the product when the day is but a distant memory.
Take a look at these items for hire:
Warm white string LED lights, £20, Cirencester
A selection of four vintage suitcases, £40, Tonbridge
