1. Soft and simple chignon

Keep cool in the summer heat with an elegant chignon. Pete Burkill, style director at HOB Salons, Camden, and creative team member at HOB Academy, says: "For the ultimate wedding hair this summer, look for inspiration from the latest red carpets for a simple chignon or twist. This versatile look can be made smooth, textured, voluptuous or sleek so play around and ask a stylist what would work better for your hair and face shape. I love to add accessories to make the look even more special."

2. Boho braids

For a bohemian vibe, this arrangement of braids is suitable for an extra special occasion in the sun. Complement with gypsophila and flowers from your bouquet for the ultimate princess finish. Fiona Jones, owner of Turrell & Jones on the Essex/Suffolk border, explains how to get the look: "Tong hair with a 19mm curling wand and tease out with a soft brush. Prep with a sea salt spray, such as ELEVEN Australia, to maintain the waves' natural movement without the need of heavy hairspray. A slimline infinity braid adds texture, cascading into a large half dutch braid and several differnt sized fishtails, each finished with a small infinity braid."

3. Feminine up-do

Can you believe that this bride sported a shoulder-length bob before her big day? Remi Cachet clip-in extensions were applied by Nicola Suitor of Nicola Claire Hair Studio in Workington, Cumbria, before hair was curled, backcombed and pinned in place, with fresh flowers delicately arranged to complete the look.

4. Modern romantic

A key trend this season is inspired by styling from the past, reviving historic looks and updating them with a 21st century effect. For showstopping hair this season, ask your stylist for a relaxed up-do with wispy strands and backcombing to create lots of texture and volume - as seen in this style from Regis Salons

9. Crown braid

An all-time favourite with brides and bridesmaids alike - such as this, created by Oxfordshire-based Anne Veck, crown braids are a perfect summer wedding option: they last all day, your hair is out of your face and they’re reasonably quick to do. Ensure plenty of hairspray to set the style in place.
